DORCHESTER Town boss Glenn Howes expects a “full-blooded” derby with his former club Poole Town today (3pm).
Howes has played in midfield for both teams and knows only too well the derby atmosphere awaiting the players at the Black Gold Stadium.
However, the two have experienced divergent seasons to date. Dorchester are 19th and winless in five games while Poole sit sixth with three victories.
Howes told Dorchester’s media team: “I love derbies, any player, any manager to play in those derby games it’s a wonderful atmosphere and experience.
“They’re probably our nearest rivals, it’s a derby and I expect it to be a full-blooded affair.

“We were in the privileged position to watch them last Wednesday and they’re a real strong, resilient, powerful, seasoned Southern League side who, in my opinion, have got the best manager (Tom Killick) in the league and management team.”
Leighton Thomas serves the final match of a three-game ban, while Callum Buckley (knee) is a doubt.
