WEYMOUTH have been given an away draw to Hellenic League side Highworth Town in the FA Cup second qualifying round.

Bobby Wilkinson's Terras make their bow in the 2023/24 competition having been given a bye in the first qualifying round.

The two sides are separated by three divisions and 54 positions in the National League System.

Highworth, nicknamed the Worthians, play in Step 5 compared to Weymouth's National League South status in Step 2.

And the draw is a golden opportunity for the Wiltshire side to cause a huge upset in the cup.

The two sides have played previously in the FA Cup at this stage back in 2001, when Weymouth won 3-0 thanks to goals from Ian Hutchinson, Darran Rowbotham and Simon Browne.

Highworth are currently eighth in the Hellenic League table and have already come through three rounds to reach this stage.

Town have beaten Brimscombe & Thrupp 4-1 away, Nailsea & Tickenham 3-0 away and Okehampton United 3-1 on their travels.

Weymouth, meanwhile, are looking to reach back-to-back main draws.

The Terras last season ended a 15-year wait to reach the first round.

They drew 1-1 at home and arguably should have won, taking League Two side AFC Wimbledon to a replay before losing 3-1 at Plough Lane.

The tie will be played on Saturday, September 16 (3pm) with £3,375 going to the winners. Losers pocket £1,125.
