THIS weekend’s Counties One Tribute Southern South league fixture sees Dorchester travel to Albert Park to tackle Bath-based Walcot (3pm)

Honours were even last season with both sides winning their respective home fixtures.

Director of rugby Martin Oxland is looking to take the positives from last week’s performance, and the strong 60 minutes for which the county town side led the visitors.

He has set out some action points for this weekend’s game and focused training on some of the areas that need addressing.

At this point it looks like captain Steve Tucker, who is leading the team out for his 100th appearance which incidentally began its run at Walcot, will have a changed matchday squad due to availability issues and some early injury concerns.

This does however give the coaching team a chance to view players in unfamiliar positions and to give debuts to those pushing for first-team places, as well as options for new partnerships forming.

Prop Tom Louch, last season’s most improved player, moves back into the front row after being unavailable last time out. Likely the pack may not have any other changes.

With some last-minute fitness tests taking place, Callum King may be one of those who is passed fit to play in what could be a different looking back line.

Jack Hayward and Kieran Fry will most likely be in their familiar roles as scrum-half and full-back, but the midfield will need to be decided upon at the last moment.

With the first league game of the season out of the way, the players will be keen to return to the field and give a full 80-minute performance for the group.

There are still spaces available on a coach the club are running up for players and supporters alike.

In the same division, Weymouth & Portland host North Dorset (3pm).
