NAHUM Melvin-Lambert’s proposed loan move to Harrow Borough is yet to be completed, Weymouth manager Bobby Wilkinson has revealed.

Melvin-Lambert has been out since the 2-0 loss at Worthing in late August with food poisoning and then a sinus infection.

He required hospital treatment before a course of antibiotics set him on the road to full recovery.

However, Weymouth are now looking for the ex-Reading striker to top up his match minutes closer to his south-east base.

Wilkinson has lined up an arrangement with Step 3 side Harrow, who play alongside Weymouth’s rivals Dorchester in the Southern League Premier South.

The mechanics of the deal were so advanced that Wilkinson could not renege on it after top-scorer Ezio Touray suffered a perforated ear drum on Friday before the 1-1 draw with Tonbridge.

Quizzed about the progress of Melvin-Lambert’s loan with Harrow, Wilkinson told Echosport: “No, nothing’s been done yet and I’m waiting.

“I’m hoping that will be done for (this) week. But then, guess what? We send him to Harrow and then that’s why he wasn’t in the squad.

“Ezio then called me on Friday and it was too late.”

Harrow were due to play Didcot Town yesterday evening in the league.

Melvin-Lambert was not signed in time by the Reds to feature in their 2-2 draw with Swindon Supermarine on Saturday.

When he does eventually leave Weymouth for a month, the Terras will only have Dan Roberts, Ben Thomson, Brandon Goodship and Moe Shubbar as recognised fit strikers.

Tommy Stagg is on loan at Cheshunt, while Touray has been prescribed rest and may need surgery pending an assessment of his injury.
