DORCHESTER Town boss Tom Killick will use the defeat to Sholing as “fuel” against Hayes & Yeading tomorrow (3pm).

Killick’s men lost 2-1 to the Southern League Premier new boys on Tuesday and are winless in four league games.

The ex-Poole manager is also without a victory since joining the Magpies as their new boss and wants to harness the disappointment of midweek as a positive.

He told Echosport: “I can understand supporters will be unbelievably disappointed so we’ve got to use that as a fuel to show significant improvement on Saturday.

“Hayes over the last three or four years have been one of the best sides in the league in my view. They had a little drop-off last year and the beginning of this year.

“Having appointed Mark (Molesley) they’ll be looking to get back to previous levels, which involve them very much challenging at the top end.

“It’s inevitable they’ll be improved in terms of Mark’s input and they’ll be confident. They’ll be powerful opponents, no doubt about that.

“Sometimes, it can be better to really know that only your very best is going to be good enough. Hopefully the players having that realisation will bring out the best in them come Saturday.”

Killick himself admitted to being unconcerned by his personal record as boss but is keen to see Dorchester moving up the table soon.

He said: “My own record doesn’t concern me, it’s in terms of the club and team, the league table does not make good reading.

“We need points and quickly so we can get in a more respectable position.”

Pedro Borges (ankle) will have a fitness test at parent club Exeter City today, while Killick also hinted at the possibility of loaning players out for extra game time.
