WEYMOUTH will ignore the struggles of bottom club Havant & Waterlooville when the Terras travel to Westleigh Park tomorrow (3pm).

Havant are surprisingly bottom of the Vanarama National League South standings having only returned one win, a 4-3 success over current leaders Yeovil, in 13 games.

But under new boss Steve King, the Hawks appear to be taking an upward step and impressed in the first half of their midweek game against Aveley.

Mo Faal put Havant ahead but Aveley weathered the storm and roared back with four unanswered goals to take the victory away from a Hawks side bereft of confidence.

Terras’ boss Bobby Wilkinson watched the game and is not fooled by Havant’s results.

He told Echosport: “They’re a good team and on the park was a very experienced side.

“I travelled down to do my work on them. On paper they’re a massive threat but they seem to have lost their way and lost a little belief.

“When you have a team like that, you’ve got to attack it the best you can but it’s still going to be a very difficult game.”

He added: “League tables don’t lie but I couldn’t believe the side they put out, very good. They just seem not to be able to get a win at the moment, so we need to continue that.

“They could turn it on, the first 25 minutes (against Aveley) they were outstanding and then they concede a goal and it’s a change in mindset.”

Meanwhile, Weymouth are looking to bounce back after the disappointment of their 2-0 loss at rivals Yeovil on Tuesday.

The Terras threatened for long periods in the second half but missed three gilt-edged chances to score, something Wilkinson is keen to eradicate on Saturday.

He said: “What’s so important is that we keep the last six games going. We’re not always going to play the best football in the world, we know what, but consistency’s been well.

“Hopefully if we get three golden chances like we did the other night, you’ve got to take at least two of them.”

Weymouth have also loaned out midfielder Harvey Slade for a second time this season, following his earlier spell with former club Bashley.

Slade reunites with Frankie Monk at Poole, both players having joined the Dolphins for a month.

Wilkinson said: “He’s played a lot of football but he’s giving the ball away a lot at the moment.

“He’s been brilliant out of possession but we’re a footballing team that want to be better on the ball.”

Moe Shubbar has been restricted to just two substitute appearances since signing following his departure from Rochdale.

Wilkinson added: “Moe is not fully fit yet. He’s training but just not match fit, we’ve got a lot of work to do.

“He proved it the week before when he came on and he was a little sluggish when he came on. You could see he hasn’t played a lot.

“I’ll manage that and we’re lucky we have Keels (Keelan O’Connell) back.”

Elsewhere, strikers Nahum Melvin-Lambert and Tommy Stagg have secured loan deals at Haringey Borough and Leatherhead respectively.

Stagg was at Cheshunt but quit after two games.
