WEYMOUTH have so far experienced a “frustrating” week in the player market, boss Bobby Wilkinson says.

Wilkinson stated his desire to bring in two more players this week, due to the impending suspensions of Jordon Thompson, for two games, plus Teddy Howe and Charlie Rowan for one.

Weymouth have been looking in three departments, scanning the market for a striker, midfielder and a defender.

However, Wilkinson has at the time of writing had little joy, despite coming close to securing one of his targets.

He told Echosport: “I’ve been doing one or two dealings but nothing’s come through, it’s been quite frustrating this week.

“We thought one might have landed on our lap but I decided at the last minute we’re not going to do that one.

“We’ll get Saturday’s game out of the way and we’ll look at the Torquay game and take it from there.

“We’ve looked in three key areas, just in case. The squad’s still good, we’re just trying to make sure everyone’s hungry.”

Weather permitting, Weymouth visit Braintree Town this afternoon (3pm).
