WEYMOUTH'S Vanarama National League South clash at Braintree Town has been postponed to due a frozen pitch.

Braintree and Weymouth confirmed the news via social media this evening.

The call has been made early given the Terras have a 390-mile round trip from the Bob Lucas Stadium to Cressing Road.

If the two sides cannot find a spare Saturday in which to slot the rearranged game into, Weymouth will likely have to make an arduous journey in midweek.

Braintree are currently seventh in the division, while Weymouth are 17th.

Weymouth next face big-hitters Torquay United on Tuesday (7.45pm) and will be hoping temperatures rise in time to visit Plainmoor.

The Terras are understood to be squeezing in another training session this weekend ahead of playing the Gulls.

Following the match at Torquay, Weymouth travel to London to play Step 3 side Hendon in the FA Trophy third round on Saturday.
