DORCHESTER Town have signed goalkeeper Jameson Horlick on loan from Premier League side Luton Town.

Horlick, 20, joins the Magpies from the Hatters until the end of the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division season.

Luton have also confirmed that Horlick has signed a new professional contract at Kenilworth Road, having impressed while training with the club’s first team.

Horlick has featured twice for the Hatters in the Premier League Cup this season and won the Bedfordshire Senior Cup in 2023.

He was also an unused substitute in Luton’s 1-1 draw at Blackpool in 2022.

Horlick is the third goalkeeper signed by Magpies boss Tom Killick since his arrival in September, following the acquisition of Adam Forster and Jake Viney.

Forster has a serious shoulder injury, while Viney has only played in one game since signing at short notice in the aftermath of his predecessor’s setback.

Speaking to Dorchester Town’s official website, Killick said: “First of all I’d like to thank Jake Viney for helping us out at short notice.

“He is a really good goalkeeper but although it’s a harsh decision, as I thought Jake looked good in the Poole game, I felt I couldn’t pass up the opportunity of bringing Jameson in when I was offered the opportunity of doing so.

“He comes highly recommended and trains with Luton’s first team every day. He needs competitive games which we can offer him and hopefully it can be a mutually beneficial relationship.

“We are excited to have him and thank Luton for their kind co-operation.”

Meanwhile, Luton Town’s under-21 lead coach Adrian Forbes believes Horlick’s spell at Dorchester presents a good opportunity to “test himself”.

He told Luton's official website: “It’s fantastic news that the club have offered Jamo a new deal and well deserved.

“His attitude, work-rate and application has been fantastic over the course of the year, and one thing he’s done really well is that he’s taken the opportunity to learn from more experienced goalkeepers – whether it be Thomas Kaminski, Tim Krul, James Shea – and that’s allowed him to develop himself as a person, as well as a goalkeeper.

“I’ve been really pleased and proud of what he’s achieved so far this season and the future is bright.

“Now he has the opportunity to go on a loan and really test himself in proper football. As yet he’s not had that experience of being in a first team dressing room where if he doesn’t come for a cross or if he does make a mistake, there are three points at stake.

“This loan is good for him for the next stage of his development.

"It’s perfect for him to go away, learn his trade properly, while still coming back and learning from the more experienced goalkeepers around him. Hopefully it’ll take his career and his game to the next level.”

Subject to Premier League and Southern League approval, Horlick’s first Dorchester appearance could come at home to Hungerford Town on Saturday (3pm).
