DORCHESTER Town must wait for the chance to record a hat-trick of victories after their league match at AFC Totton was postponed.

Heavy rain from Storm Isha and more overnight into Tuesday has saturated the playing surface at Snows Stadium, leading to a waterlogged pitch after an inspection this afternoon.

The Magpies were looking to back up successive wins over Harrow Borough and Merthyr Town but will not get the opportunity until Saturday.

Totton said: “Unfortunately following a pitch inspection, tonight’s match against @DorchTownFC has had to be postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. We will update when we have a re-arranged fixture.”

The match was set to pitch Dorchester coaches Glenn Howes and James Wood against their former side for the first time since the Stags’ promotion to Step 3.

The duo had earlier taken charge against Totton, immediately after leaving the club, before losing 2-0 in the FA Trophy in October 2021.

Dorchester return to action when Plymouth Parkway visit the Avenue Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

The Magpies will be looking to avenge a 5-0 loss at Bolitho Park earlier this season, after which Howes stepped down to become new manager Tom Killick’s assistant.

Dorchester have lost their last four matches against Parkway in a run stretching back to a 3-1 home win over the Devon side in September 2022.
