DORCHESTER Town face the second episode of crunch back-to-back games when they travel to London to face Hanwell Town this evening (7.45pm).

Tom Killick’s Magpies have put together a solid run of four games unbeaten, including three wins, but remain 20th in the Pitching In Southern League Premier South.

With Hanwell stationed three points above the Magpies in 14th, having played an extra game, Dorchester have a big chance to make ground with a potential win.

And, speaking after the 1-0 win at Didcot on Saturday, Killick urged his players to “refocus” with “much to do” in the fight for survival.

He told Echosport: “We’ve just got to beware of getting carried away with ourselves.

"We’ve just got to refocus and fully realise that there’s still so much to do.

“If we go into that game with the right attitude I believe we’re more than capable of getting a result. They beat Poole 3-0 so they’re going to be full of confidence as well.

“We just have to start believing in ourselves and know if we do the basic stuff right, which we have been, we’ve got the quality to trouble them.

“As good as our results have been, it’s nowhere near enough. We’ve not even managed to get out of the bottom four.”

Due to the testing nature of Didcot’s pitch, Dorchester are hopeful of emerging unscathed, although Killick took a playful swipe at the conditions.

He said: “It was very heavy going. I think if it was a racetrack it would’ve been good to soft, soft in places!

“Some of your thoroughbreds weren’t suited, it was more your Shire horses that came to the fore. Hopefully, we’ve got a clean bill of health.”
