BALTI Sports must guard against a backlash from Bridport Reserves in their Dorset Premier League meeting at Cranford Avenue tomorrow (3pm), boss Marco Nott says.

Balti thumped the Bees 9-1 at St Mary’s Field in the second game of the season.

Bridport Reserves’ manager Adam Herring has already gone on the record regarding that result, making clear his wish to rectify the outcome.

And they visit a vulnerable Balti side with little football in the bank and fresh from a harrowing 3-1 derby defeat to rivals Dorchester Sports.

Nott told Echosport: “We’re in a bad vein of form ourselves, so we desperately need the win as much as anyone.

“It’s definitely a confidence issue and a bit of rustiness. We need a reaction from Saturday.

“We won there at the start of the season quite emphatically but we’re not in that mood now. Any win would be a great win.”

He added: “I’m sure they’ll be looking to get revenge, beating them comfortably at their place is something that hadn’t been done before for us.

“We’ll be wary. It’s vital for us that we get a win on Saturday.”

Midfield duo Carl McClements and Sami Nichols are unavailable, while Matty Chambers (hamstring) is a doubt.

Oscar Preece and Charlie Mussenden return, but Louis James, Harry Rupp and Adam Batchelor are out.
