WEYMOUTH will only sign players that match with manager Mark Molesley’s desired traits, the Terras’ boss confirmed.

After taking charge for the final five matches of the 2023/24 season, Molesley now has the chance to put his stamp on Weymouth’s squad.

Speaking to Echosport regarding potential signings this summer, he said: “We’re aware of targets.

“It’s more the type of player, character and attitude, we’re looking for but also players who can play our way.”

And Molesley has already pencilled in pre-season times, adding: “We’ll be back end of June, start of July.

“We’ll rubber-stamp those dates and start turning our attention to that. It’s been a real whirlwind.

“We’re trying to balance everything, also having our eye on planning and recruiting. It’s been in overdrive since we’ve been here.

“Everyone thinks the season stops now. We’re going to be ultra busy trying to put our stamp on things.

"Assessment mode is over. It’s our model going forward.”

Goalkeeper Harvey Wiles-Richards and striker Harry Parsons have returned to their clubs.

Weymouth are expected to jettison Tyrique Clarke and Joel Rollinson, with Teddy Howe also nearing an exit.
