NEW Dorchester Town vice-chairman Cameron Dabbs believes becoming second in command at the Avenue Stadium is the “next step” in his career.
Dabbs joined the Magpies’ board in May 2020, working alongside outgoing chairman Scott Symes and his successor Shaun Hearn.
He steps into the vice-chairman role vacated in 2022 by Dave Martin, now acting chairman of the Southern League.
Speaking to Echosport, Dabbs said: “I feel like it’s the next step for me.

“I’ve known Scott and Shaun for five years having been on the board just as Covid started.
“I’ve really bought into their vision, where they want to go and Shaun wants to take it next year.
“I will support him as administratively as possible, ensuring season tickets are done correctly, tickets are done correctly.
“But also, that one extra strand of community that I want to work with. That ties into the schools tournament we’re doing.”
