The player had only just joined the club from Weymouth on a season-long loan.
It has been revealed the the keeper went to hospital to be treated for a dislocated finger and will not return to the team for several weeks whilst it heals.
Speaking on the club's social media, assistant manager Glenn Howes said: "Unfortunately we lost Gez, who I thought had fitted in seamlessly considering he had only been with us for a couple of days.
"He has gone to hospital to get his finger looked at - it is a dislocation.
"Depending on how bad it is we are looking at a couple of weeks."
