Dorchester Town has confirmed why manager Tom Killick has been absent from recent matches.
The Magpies boss has not been in the dugout of late and it has now been confirmed that he had contracted sepsis and has now been released from hospital and is recovering at home.
So far this season, assistant Glenn Howes has led the side in the club's first three league games of the season.
Howes has overseen two draws and a defeat but the club are now hopeful that Killick will resumes his duties for the home game against Gloucester City on Saturday, August 24.
A club statement released on social media said: "Dorchester Town Football Club can confirm that Tom Killick’s absence from recent games was due to him contracting sepsis.
"We are pleased to say that he has now been discharged from hospital and is continuing to recover at home.
"Tom is confident he will be back in the dugout for our home game this Saturday."
Killick took over the side in September 2023 after a hugely successful 20-year spell as manager of Poole Town where he took charge of nearly 1,000 games and guided the Dolphins from the tenth tier of English football up to the National League South.
