STRIKER Rob Maxted will be back in action for Easton tomorrow when they host new boys FC Polonia at Grove Corner.

The powerful forward, who netted 18 times for the Portlanders last season, has returned from injury and could partner Martin Hillier up front.

United boss Chris Wilson said: "Rob is back fit and Martin should be okay as well but Carl Fox and Rob Lawrence both remain out with long-term injuries. Ian Gray has also had to cut back his availability this season due to family and work commitments. We will miss not having him around as much but he is still involved with the committee and will play as and when.

"As for FC Polonia, I do not really know much about them. I spoke to a couple of lads at Bishops Caundle and they said they like to get it down and play, and are a good passing side but apart from that I do not know a lot more so we will just concentrate on our own game.

"We have had a good start but we can play a lot better. In our last game against Moreton we were still chasing the game when we were four up instead of killing things off.

"We ended up conceding two sloppy goals and you cannot afford to do that particularly against the stronger sides. We have got to start showing a bit more maturity."

Easton did not have a game last weekend and Wilson was glad of the break. He added: "We needed that rest. We had a lot of little knocks and it allowed people to recover. We are now looking forward to getting back to winning ways."

WEYMOUTH SPORTS v MORETON RICKY Lane and Chris Hicks are both unavailable for Weymouth Sports' clash against Moreton in the Dorset Senior League tomorrow (3pm).

Sports are currently fourth in the table just three points adrift of leaders Wareham Rangers with a game in-hand and boss Stuart Heath wants to see his men continue their encouraging start to the campaign after having a free Saturday last weekend.

He said: "We are looking to carry on from a decent performance against Kangaroos two weeks ago both in terms of our work-rate and attacking which was much improved.

"We are getting better with every game and we are looking to get a settled squad together and the whole club going in the right direction after so many changes in the summer.

"The players have shown an excellent attitude so far and are keen to do as well as they possibly can this season."
