DUKE of Albany player-boss Luke Tomlin has warned his players they must "pull their sleeves up" if they have any aspirations of winning more silverware this season.

The Park Street boys take on the Railway Tavern in the Weymouth Sunday League Premiership at Redlands (10.30am) tomorrow looking to bounce back from a disappointing 3-0 defeat against the Rodwell last week.

Tomlin said: "I am taking nothing away from the Rodwell because they fully deserved their win but not one of my players can honestly say they had a good game and that is not acceptable.

"If they want to win more trophies this term then they need to pull their sleeves up and be prepared to get stuck in. Anyone can look good in a side winning 10-0 but when it really mattered too many went into hiding."

Jason Pearce and Sean Harris will return for the Duke this weekend and there could also be a first appearance of the season for Mark Carter.

Definitely out will be unwell keeper John Burrows while Chris Sweetser-Hawkes and Josh Burton will undergo late fitness checks.

The Britannia will also be looking for a vast improvement when they take on league leaders the Belvedere at the Piggery.

Stuart Burley's Portland outfit went three down last week against the Punchbowl before eventually running out 6-5 winners.

Burley said: "This is a massive game for us because we have really been struggling for form of late. We have been missing some key players and tomorrow we will be without Chris Squibb and Dan Mitchell. However, I am still hoping we can rise to meet the challenge of playing the champions."

The Belve boast a 100 per cent record and will welcome back Rob Maxted tomorrow but Gary Harvey is injured and Andy Holder is a doubt.

Dan Magee and Anthony Crane are struggling for fitness ahead of the Kingswood's meeting with the George at Budmouth.

Magee is suffering with a back problem while Crane is recovering from a dead leg. Goalkeeper Neil Ward remains a long-term absentee and is not expected to be back in action for at least another two weeks but Ian McDonald and Chris Heward could return.

Wood co-boss Jason Welllman said: "The George picked up a very impressive victory against Tuatara last week so we know it is going to be a tough game.

"However, we do feel we are well on the way to finding the right balance in the side and hopefully we can take another step forward tomorrow by picking up the win."

AFC Black Dog will welcome the Rendezvous to Redlands for an early season basement battle where the prize of three points could well prove pivotal for the winners in their quest to maintain top flight status.

The Dog will be without the suspended Matt Brown and the unavailable Joe Djeebet but they will welcome back Liam Briers, Chris Howell and Alex Glover.

Dog boss Rob Pavey, who is struggling with injury, said: "We have had a very tough start to the season with games against three top teams and we have been struggling to get some consistency in the side, but I believe things are starting to turn around now. We are starting to get players back and hopefully we can now have a bit of competition for places. I am also hoping to have a few new signings by the weekend, so we will see how that pans out. I have also managed to persuade former skipper Wayne Day out of retirement which will give the whole squad a lift."

Elsewhere, Galaxy Windows, along with all the other Championship clubs, will be doing battle in the opening round of the Dorset Junior Cup.

Galaxy travel to Branksome to take on unknown opponents AFC Hewitt Green and boss Andy Barber is looking forward to the challenge.

He said: "The lads are really up for the cup match tomorrow and I am hoping to put out a strong side.

"Our player of the month Dave Dulston will be keeping his place at centre back while Jim Hendon will get his first start of the season as he has showed great commitment in training and on match days to support the rest of the team. Matt Bird also impressed last week and he will start in midfield alongside the experienced Alieu Faye."

Chris Douthwaite will miss the game due to a groin injury but Bobby Jones will return to partner skipper Kieron Reeson up front.

Reeson added: "I know the gaffer is really keen on doing well in the cups this year so we are going to go out and do our best for him tomorrow. Hopefully we will come away with a win so we can all look forward to the draw for the next round."
