DORCHESTER 14
DEVIZES 40
Despite a promising first half Dorchester fell to another heavy defeat in their Counties One Tribute Southern South match against Devizes.
The visitors were first on the scoreboard, a converted try after just seven minutes.
Dorchester settled and dominated the rest of the first quarter. Winger Flynn Drummond benefiting from a simple overlap followed by Ed Martin's impressive fifty metre burst through the Devizes' midfield.
Cohen Emery added both conversions and Dorchester looked to be in control.
Devizes did add a second, unconverted try, as Dorchester squandered several excellent try scoring chances in the first half.
They paid the price when, on the stoke of half time, Devizes went over for another converted try and a five point lead at the break.
The second half was played almost entirely in the Dorchester half but as last week Dorchester defended bravely.
An early converted try for the visitors opened the gap to twelve points but it wasn't until the final few minutes that Devizes put the game to bed with two more converted tries.
The defeat leaves Dorchester 10th in the table after three defeats in three with just two points.
Next up for Dorchester is a trip to Frome on Saturday, September 28.
