PORTLAND Red Triangle ‘can now go out and play with a bit more freedom’ in Dorset League Division Three after Pimperne became favourites for the drop following last week’s scratched game at Suttoners Seconds.

Pimperne have been deducted 40 points for failing to fulfil the fixture and with Shaftsbury having already pulled out of the league, which has meant only one team will be relegated, it appears the islanders can now breathe a sigh of relief.

Gomm, whose side will travel to Cranborne tomorrow (2pm), said: “If my maths is correct, one more point and we should be safe, which means we can go into our last three games with a lot less pressure on our shoulders and look to enjoy them.”

The islanders will make one change to their line-up tomorrow with Tony Morris replacing Adam Smart.

Portland: Leake, Proffitt, Laws, Gates, Barrett, Gomm, Adkins, Sawyer, Morris, Malpas, A West.

* Portland Red Triangle Seconds will host Ferndown Thirds at Reforne tomorrow in Dorset League Division Eight (2pm).
