BRIDPORT boss Trevor Senior has encouraged his team to continue their solid start to the season by knocking Keynsham Town out of the FA Cup tomorrow (3pm).

The Bees entertain their Toolstation Western League Division One rivals at St Mary’s Field in a preliminary round tie, and Senior sees the game as a welcome distraction from the league.

He said: “We’ve got a week before our next league game and this is a good distraction for us because a good cup run breeds confidence in the squad.”

Keynsham got their season off to a winning start last weekend but Senior, whose side have two draws from two, remains confident that his men can progress in the most famous of domestic cup competitions.

He said: “By all accounts Keynsham are a big, strong side so they will present different problems to what Minehead did.

“I spoke to Minehead’s manager after our game on Tuesday night and he told me a lot about them.

“Keynsham beat Minehead 1-0 last weekend but from what I was told the game had 0-0 written all over it until Minehead’s keeper made an error.

“I have got every confidence in my players and I think we are more than capable of winning.

“We just need a little bit of luck to go our way. We have no reason to fear anyone.”

Assistant-boss Simon Radcliffe is in contention for a place on the bench after recovering from a troublesome groin strain but keeper Lee Cleal and striker Toni Musumeci are both unavailable.
