ASHLEY Vickers insists Dorchester Town have “nothing to fear” at much-fancied Dover Athletic tomorrow (3pm).

Andy Hessenthaler’s Dover won last season’s Isthmian Premier at a canter – claiming 104 points out of a possible 126 – and are tipped to achieve back-to-back promotions this term.

Despite suffering a 3-0 defeat at another of Blue Square South’s new boys, Staines Town, on Tuesday night, Dorchester assistant-manager Vickers is in high spirits going into tomorrow’s clash.

He said: “Dover are a good, hard working side. Andy Hessenthaler is a fit guy and I expect he’s instilled a high level of fitness within his players.

“But we go there with nothing to fear and nothing to lose. Roy and I have every confidence in the lads and if they play to the best of their ability then they’ll win more games than they lose.

“We went to Staines full of confidence after last Saturday’s win against St Albans but we then got brought back to Earth. We give every team the respect they deserve but we need to impose ourselves more on each game.”

The Magpies’ cause will be boosted by the return of winger Nick Crittenden following the completion of a two-match ban.

Vickers added: “We’ve got Critts back for tomorrow’s game and he will be a massive outlet for us. Neil Martin and Ivan Forbes have done well so far in the wide positions but Critts has that extra bit of experience and know-how, which is crucial.”

Keeper Regan Coward is back in the squad, after work commitments prevented him from travelling to Staines in midweek, but midfielder Harry Montacute remains suspended.
