WONDERFUL Wednesday at Weymouth College was so successful that organisers plan to do it again during a future school holiday.

Children aged between six and 12 were allowed to take part in activities at the Fitness for Life Sports Centre last Wednesday for a reduced price of £5 while extra helpers, including college students, were drafted in to help out with the increased number of sporty youngsters.

Football skills took centre stage in the afternoon, while other sports were the focus of the morning.

Rosie Flaherty, of the sports centre, said: “We had more helpers so we were allowed to have a lot more people in and a lot of the students from the college helped them out.

“All the kids really enjoyed it and I think we are going to do it again.”
