PIDDLE Inn has had plenty to celebrate after another successful year.

The club has more than 30 members with four teams playing in the South and West Dorset Leagues – Piddle Inn A, GW Electrical, PJ Aitken and Piddle Inn B.

At the league’s presentation night Piddle Inn was awarded honours in all areas.

The prestigious Lou Beals Award for services to netball was awarded jointly to the club’s umpire training and development co-ordinator Yvette Roles and club captain Caroline Kellaway.

Piddle Inn A secured promotion to the First Division, Hannah Lee and Vicky Hallett collected their winner’s trophy, while Denise Meyers and Rachel Keeley received medals for their umpiring.

All four teams had players nominated for player of the year with PJ Aitken’s goal defence Kate Sanderson being voted player of the year for Division Three.

Vicky Sharpe, GW Electrical’s wing defence, was awarded player of the year for Division Two and the Piddle Inn Netball Club player was also awarded the top honour of overall player of the year.

The club held its first mixed netball tournament to raise funds for the club.

It was held over two days and teams of seven were made up of four ladies and three Gents.

Saturday’s champions were The Chelsea Chieftains while The Bucketeers took Sunday’s title.
