TEAMS from 10 primary schools across Weymouth and Dorchester took part in the annual High Five Rally at Budmouth Technology College.

The event was organised and hosted, with the help of teacher Jo Ray, by sixth form students from the college, who are studying for their Level Two award in Community Sports Leadership.

Schools entered were categorised into groups dependent on the size of the school.

Within these groups, points were awarded throughout the afternoon and totalled at the end of the day.

The winner of the small schools’ tournament was St Augustine’s first team, who played strongly throughout the tcompetition and won all their games convincingly.

The runners-up certificates were awarded to St Augustine’s second team. The victors were presented with the tournament trophy and all other players received a certificate of participation.

Wyke Regis won the large schools’ tournament, but only by scoring more goals than second-placed St Andrew’s, who drew with Wyke in the final match.

Jo Ray, school sports co-ordinator, said: “I, would like to thank all the participants of the rally and their teachers and helpers for making the afternoon so successful, despite the chilly weather.”

Weymouth Rotary Club, who presented the fair play award to Bincombe Valley Primary School, sponsored the event.
