SAM Charles has been passed fit to feature for Weymouth in this afternoon’s clash with Evesham United at the Bob Lucas Stadium (3pm).
The ex-Portland United striker had been struggling with a hamstring problem but came through Thurs-day’s training session unscathed.
And with Matthew Wright’s loan deal expected to get the go ahead, Terras’ boss Ian Hutchinson is now breathing a sigh of relief.
He said: “Sam came through training well, which is a big boost, and we are fully expecting Matt’s loan extension to go through in time for him to be involved too. Sam Clarke is also back fit but he will go and get 90 minutes with the reserves.”
The only serious doubt for the Terras is Matteo King. Hutchinson added: “Matteo has recovered from his groin injury but is currently struggling with a virus, so we will just have to assess his fitness on the day.”
Many people view today’s game as a must-win for Weymouth, who remain eight points adrift of safety at the foot of the Zamaretto Premier Division table, six below third-bottom Evesham, who also hold games in hand.
The Terras beat the Robins 3-1 at St George’s Lane on August 28 when Warren Byerley, Cameron Mawer and Jules Emati-Emati all found the target. The latter two have since left the club.
