BRIDPORT remain unbeaten in pre-season after sharing a goalless draw with Westland Sports.

The higher-ranked Bees had opportunities to claim victory against their Magna Dorset Premier League hosts but were unable to capitalise.

Boss Trevor Senior, whose side host Plymouth Argyle’s youth team tomorrow night (7.45pm), was pleased nonetheless.

He said: “It was a good workout again and everybody came through unscathed, so we’re pleased.

“We controlled the best part of the second half and we did create some openings, we just couldn’t get the all-important goal.

“However, we did keep a clean sheet which is good.

“Westland are a strong side and they will be one of the top sides in the Dorset Premier League this year. I believe they are trying to get into the Western League.

“We are now undefeated in four pre-season games and although results aren’t important, it’s a good habit to get into.

“We’ve got Plymouth’s under-18s on Tuesday night and that should be another good test for us.”

Prior to the clash in Somerset, the two clubs’ reserve sides did battle with the Bees’ second string running out 1-0 victors thanks to Murray Legg’s winning goal.

Meanwhile, Dawlish Town, who were due to be Bridport’s second opponents of the new season, have withdrawn from the Toolstation Western Premier Division.
