TORNADOES of South Dorset reeled in top British Age Group Category Awards at the Dorset ASA presentation. Joshua Frampton led the way with first place in the nine-years boys’ category, collecting 467 points after finishing first in the 50m freestyle, and second in the 200m backstroke and freestyle.

Joshua Rowe was third in the same section (427pts) with second in the 50m freestyle, third in the 200m backstroke and fourth in the 200m freestyle.

Charlie Samouelle bagged third in the 11-years (1,104pts), claiming second in the 50m freestyle, third in the 200m backstroke and 400m freestyle, and second in the 200m individual medley.

Kirsty Holmes also scooped bronze in the 10-years girls (1,042pts), finishing seventh in the 50m freestyle, third in the 200m backstroke, fourth in the 200m individual medley and sixth in the 200m freestyle.

And there was further joy for Eleanor Harvey who came third in the 13-years (2,309pts) with third in the 800m freestyle and 200m individual medley, fourth in the 100m freestyle, fifth in the 50m freestyle and seventh in the 200m backstroke.

Also making big improvements in the BAGCATs are James Mules, Connor Ward, Freya Stanger, Chloe Perkins, Hannah Marklew, Starr Sams, Isis Hill and Hope Stanger.

Head coach Phil Daniels said: “I’m particularly pleased with the swimmers who reap the benefits from their training.

“These individual results are a true mark of their personal commitment, hitting and surpassing their individual targets.”
