DORSET & Wilts Girls started the new season just as they finished the last – in fine style.
Playing at Monmouth Avenue, the Twin Counties inflicted a 63-5 hammering over Somerset.
After a shaky start, and with some guidance and support from the old heads, the new players started to become comfortable with their new found team members.
The Dorset & Wilts pack, although smaller in size, out scrummaged their opponents, retaining all their scrums and winning the vast majority of Somerset’s.
They were also more mobile about the park, which allowed them to arrive at the rucks and mauls in numbers, putting the visitors constantly on the back foot.
The home backs did not always take full advantage but once they had composed themselves they made good use of the possession and were rewarded with some excellent tries.
Weymouth were represented in the side by Imogen Parker.
