WEYMOUTH SPORTS 0 KINGSTON LACY 2 WEYMOUTH Sports suffered a fourth successive league defeat at the hands of Kingston Lacy at Cranford Avenue.

The contest was fairly even throughout but it was the visitors that made the most of their opportunities with Simon Dyer and Edward Denham both finding the net in the first half.

Sports’ player-boss Steve Alcock said: “It was close but some of our play was just not quite there at times.

“We actually put together some neat one-touch play and had some chances through Jamie Quinton, who was electric down the right, and Robbie Rolls but our decision making in key areas did not do us any favours.

“We kept taking that extra touch when we did not need to and for their first goal we stood off.

“However, I cannot fault the effort. The lads worked extremely hard again and deserved a lot more.

“It is a fine line at times and I am convinced that had we got a goal and got our tails up we might have got something.”

To make matters worse for Sports they also lost Andy Cleal to a straight red card with 15 minutes to go. Alcock added: “It was for violent conduct. He basically reacted after one of their lads had put in a late tackle on him.

“It came after three or four other incidents and I think it was just born out of frustrating really. We could have no complaints.”

Sports are now ninth in the Dorset Senior League table, six points adrift of the top three and five above the bottom three.
