THE Magpies have swooped for the second time this week after securing a loan deal for Aldershot midfielder Max Worsfold.

The 19-year-old will join the county town outfit until the end of the season and bolster their bid to reach the Blue Square Bet South play-offs for the very first time.

Worsfold is no stranger to this level of football, having previously been on loan at Maidenhead United, and after clinching a move for Weymouth’s Sam Malsom on Tuesday night, manager Alan Knight is delighted with his latest acquisition.

He said: “I know Max from my time at Aldershot.

“He was a kid in the youth team at the time but he’s played a few games for Maidenhead this season, and last, so he’s got some experience of Conference South.

“Dean Holdsworth is keen to get him out playing games so hopefully he will come and do a job for us.

“He played with Ashley Nicholls at Maidenhead last year, he is a young kid and he’s keen to do well.”

The teenager could make his Dorchester Town debut in Saturday’s clash at league leaders Woking (3pm).

Knight added: “He needs to play games and hopefully he will get some with us.

“Hopefully we’ll get him down for training tonight and then up for selection for Saturday.”

Meanwhile, the Magpies have reached an agreement with Exeter City to extend the stay of striker Tom Nichols, who has bagged three goals in as many games since his arrival last month.

Knight said: “I believe we have agreed another month with a 24-hour recall, should they need him back.”
