A HOST of watersports taster activities will be on offer at the Outdoor Show hosted at the borough’s 2012 Olympic Sailing venue.

The Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy is holding the free-entry event on Saturday, March 31 from 10am to 4pm.

The action-packed ‘family fun day’ will offer taster sessions in sailing, windsurfing, surf-ski paddling, stand up paddle boarding and a mobile climb wall.

Other show attractions include bike demos, a skate park and battlefields.

Exhibitors on display will include Weymouth Watersports, Weymouth College, SailLaser, the Official Test Centre Windsurfing Made Easy, Sunsail, PGL Active, Geocaching, Wessex Mountaineering Club, Weymouth Bike Hire, New Forest Activities Booking Centre, Pelican Adventures, Studland Sea School, Portland Revive, Westfield Arts College, Land & Wave Outdoor Centre, Mud Sweat & Gears, the National Trust and BustinSkin Triathlons.

Academy chief executive John Tweed said: “Our aim of hosting this event is to draw local businesses and clubs together and show our support for the local sports industry.”
