BRIDPORT travel to Odd Down tomorrow (3pm) hoping it is a case of third time lucky against their Bath opponents.

The Bees have already suffered two defeats at the hands of tomorrow’s hosts, failing to score in either encounter as they bowed out of the Les Phillips Cup and went down 4-0 in the Toolstation Western Prem-ier Division.

But having picked up seven points from their last three outings, Trevor Senior’s men are in buoyant mood.

The Bridport chief, who returns to the dugout after missing Saturday’s win at Bristol Manor Farm, said: “I was thrilled to bits when I heard of Saturday’s result and this is our best run of the season, taking seven points from our last nine.

“With Radstock losing on Tuesday night those two wins have put us a long way towards being safe.

“We are in a good position, it’s just a shame that we won’t really be able to get much higher than we are. But looking down below us, a little gap is opening up.

“Tomorrow is a big game for us. We have played them twice already.

“We lost 1-0 in the cup late on before they beat us convincingly in the league when we were poor on the day.

“Their pitch is not usually the best and it’s not an easy place to go, but we will go there and try to get a result.”

Discussing last weekend’s victory, Senior added: “It was a great result.

“The aim was to go up there, play one up front and try and grind out a result. And from what I’ve been told that is exactly what happened.

“Tom Richardson scored and played very well leading the line on his own, while Sam Filkins made some good saves by all accounts and defensively Joe Charles was awesome.

“But the lads worked hard as a group and although we possibly had a bit of luck, we haven’t had much of it this season and I do believe things even themselves out over the course of the season.

“It’s good to take points from higher-placed sides as it shows we can do it.”

Trevor’s son Chris is unavailable once again while Mitch Conning (groin) remains dou-btful for tomorrow’s trip.

The Bees’ boss said: “Mitch didn’t train on Tuesday night and we’re not sure how bad his groin injury is.

“However, it would be difficult to change the team after Saturday.”
