BYRON Napper believes the Terras are more than capable of springing a surprise at the league leaders this afternoon (3pm).

The Crawley Town midfielder, who returned to the Bob Lucas Stadium earlier this week for a second loan spell, is optimistic ahead of the trip to Brackley Town and is delighted to be back in action.

He said: “It is definitely great to be back playing and the boys are buzzing at the minute.

“When I went back to Crawley in January, a few little things came up in terms of possible moves but nothing concrete, and until I came back down here I was just training with them to keep myself fit.

“The fact there is a good run of games now through to the end of the season is great because playing time is what I need.

“I need to get games under my belt in order to get myself in the shop window.

“The next few weeks are all about working hard at Weymouth and seeing what comes of it.”

Napper, who is out of contract in the summer, was part of the Terras’ team that lost 1-0 at home to the Saints earlier in the campaign.

He added: “They are a big, strong and physical side that can also play a bit so it is going to be an extremely difficult game.

“It is also a tough time to be playing them because they will be desperate for a result. However, if we work hard and get a break who knows what could happen.

“When we come against the better sides we tend to raise our game a bit and hopefully that will be the same today.

“And with Mark Ford banging in goals for fun at the moment there is no reason why we cannot take Brackley by surprise.

“Mark will be an unknown quantity to them and with the quality we have all around the side we can go there with confidence.

“If we remain solid and put in the required work rate we will stand every chance of getting a result.”

The Terras, who lie 12th in the Evo-Stik Southern Pre-mier Division, could climb to their highest league position of the season with victory this afternoon even though they are currently just five points clear of the drop-zone.
