DORSET & Wilts Under-15s made it a hat-trick of victories at the South West 10s Tournament.
Ten county squads and two teams from Newport Gwent Dragons gathered at Chippenham RFC for this year’s annual event, sponsored by Rugby Moves, and it was the Twin Counties who once again reigned supreme – defeating Devon in a nail-biting final.
Three pools of four teams commenced play at midday, with their final positions dictating which group they advanced to next – Bronze, Silver or Gold.
In Bronze Group, teams competed for ninth to 12th places and the final was won by Cornwall, who beat Somerset 29-10.
The losing semi-finalists were Dragons A and last year’s runners-up Surrey.
Fifth place went to Dragons B after they beat Berkshire 17-12 in the Silver Group final – Oxfordshire and Hampshire losing out in the semi-finals.
The Gold Group would determine the overall champions with Buckinghamshire, Dorset & Wilts, Devon and Sussex all vying for the trophy.
Sussex bowed out to Dorset & Wilts 41-7 and Buckinghamshire were defeated 17-5 by Devon, before the Twin Counties overcame the latter 14-10 in the final.
The Rugby Moves Trophy was then presented to the Dorset & Wilts skipper Jack Hurring by Rugby Moves owner Colin Masterman.
