WEYMOUTH Swimming Club members took home a haul of trophies at the club’s Trophy Galas.

The first event was the girls’ 10-and-under 25m fly. Eight youngsters took part and all recorded a personal best time.

Charlotte Harris won the trophy and set herself a new personal best.

In the boys’ event, Tyler Baker led from the start to win gold and set a new pb in the process.

In the D group 100m fly, Sadie Desmond set a time more than four seconds faster than her nearest rival to win the gold and take home the trophy.

Katie Paul won in C group, Sasha Kelly took B group and Zoe Allan beat her nearest A group rival by more than nine seconds to become champion.

Michael Lister claimed the D group fly in the male events with Josh Brunell way ahead of his nearest rival in C section.

Jacob Whittall smashed his entry time by 24 seconds to win in B group, and Nial Turner set a new personal best in the A group.

Andy Hawkins set a new pb in his masters’ race and took a trophy.

The fly championship winners with the fastest time overall were Desmond and Brunell.

Harris continued to dominate the girls’ 10 and under events by winning the freestyle race and setting a new personal best.

Baker also dominated the boys’ event, taking a second trophy in his freestyle race.

In the 100m events, Desmond won in a new personal best time for the D group, Paul took her second trophy by winning the C group race, holding off stiff competition from Charlotte Mansell. Kelly won her second gold in the B group race and Allan set a new personal best to win the A group event.

Lister claimed the D group freestyle with Brunell taking the C group trophy in a personal best time.

Whittall set an exceptionally fast new time in his B group race and Turner won his second trophy in A group.

Steve White held off stiff competition from Hawkins to win the masters’ event.

Championship winners were Desmond and Brunell.

Alice Adams set a new pb in the 10-and-under breaststroke and Baker took his third title and set a new pb.

Desmond won a closely fought battle with Allan to take the D group title. Paul won her third crown in C group and Kelly followed suit in B group with a new pb.

Sophie Godbold claimed a trophy for A group and set a first recorded time for the distance.

The boys’ breaststroke races were dominated by Lister, Brunell, Whittall and Turner, who each won their respective age group.

Whittall and Turner set huge personal best times.

Championship winners once again were Desmond and Brunell.

Adams won her second trophy by winning the backcrawl event for A group.

Baker made it four out of four by taking gold in the boys’ A group race.

Desmond, Paul and Kelly continued their fine form to win their fourth trophy out of four events. Danielle Brunell set a new personal best by over 10 seconds to win A group.

Lister, Josh Brunell, Whittall and Turner completed their hauls winning their fourth trophy in their age group.

Hawkins set a new personal best in the masters’ backcrawl.

Completing their dominance of the championship trophies were Desmond and Josh Brunell.

Awards were also presented to swimmers who have made the biggest improvement over any one stroke between last year’s event and this year’s.

The winners were Adams, Baker, Abbie-Leigh McKay and Turner.
