THE Terras are still waiting to hear from Warren Byerley on how he intends to repay the rest of his outstanding loan for a recent private knee operation.

According to Kettering Town’s official website, the 27-year-old has now completed his switch to Nene Park but as yet he has made no contact with Weymouth to confirm his departure.

Terras’ chairman Nigel Biddlecombe told Echosport: “I have heard nothing from Warren Byerley whatsoever but I did hear from Bob Brown on Wednesday, who I believe is Kettering’s secretary.

“He wanted to confirm Warren was not under any contractual obligations to Weymouth FC. I confirmed he was not before going on to make clear his responsibility to Weymouth FC and Winter-bourne Hospital.

“Since that call I have made the assumption Warren has now signed a contract at Kettering but like I said he has not contacted me at all.

“In regards to the outstanding loan, he has paid a proportion of it back but we are still waiting to hear how he intends to repay the rest.

“My understanding of it was that he was going to call me to discuss the balance.”

First-team boss Brendon King has not received a courtesy call from the striker either. He added: “As far as I am aware Warren has gone.

“That is what it says on the Kettering website but I have heard nothing from him at all. When the move first came about I began starting to plan without him anyway so precautions have been made and now we just get on with it.

“I am still in talks with a couple of players and we shall just see how it goes.

“The fact we have managed to get a few in already has been fantastic and that always tends to lead to a couple more so hopefully we will have some more news soon.”

When asked how pre-season training has been going, King added: “It has been really good. We have had some cracking sessions and the experience of the new signings, Barry McConnell, Danny Clay and Scott Walker, is beginning to show already.

“Barry may be 37 but he has been out in front of all the runs and is a fantastic example for the younger ones to follow.

“He ran a marathon not so long ago in under three hours and I think that says a lot.

“All three guys were also talking all the time during the drills with the ball and I think their leadership qualities and extra bit of knowhow is going to be massive for us.”

The Terras are set to kick-off their pre-season friendlies with a trip to Portland United on July 21.
