WINDSURFERS braved the chilly conditions to participate in the latest National Watersports Festival (NWF) Winter Windsurfing Camp.
On day one windsurfers reported that the weather was bearable, but on day two the wind stepped up a notch or two, as did the wind chill, so the session was relatively short-lived.
Surfers also had the chance to take part in a session with Rich Fabbri from Portland Beach Cross Fit. Fabbri is incredibly knowledgeable and the atmosphere at the base in Ferrybridge is very welcoming.
After getting accustomed to their boards, the action was hotting up for the race starts, with a few timely runs, lots of poorly timed starts and the odd crash on the start line! The surfers were getting geared up perfectly for the start of the UKWA slalom season.
The next NWF Winter Windsurfing Camp is on Saturday, March 17 – Sunday, March 18.
OTC urges budding windsurfers to book a place on the camp as soon as possible.
