AARON Ramsdale is relishing this afternoon's opportunity to "try and stop the best players in the country" as Cherries prepare to host Manchester City (2pm).

The goalkeeper is in line to make his third Premier League appearance having impressed against Sheffield United and Aston Villa.

Discussing the chance to face Pep Guardiola's champions at Vitality Stadium, Ramsdale told the Daily Echo: "Man City will be busy, but that’s all I’ll say on them because it’s going to be an enjoyable game for us and obviously it’s a chance for me to test myself against the highest in the league. Let’s hope we can come out with a few good reports.

"We spoke about it on Saturday, we’re still unbeaten. I know it’s just two games in but that’s the mentality we’ve got to have.

"We’ve got to go into every game thinking we can win and especially not lose. Man City, we’re going to think that we’re not going to lose and we’re going to take the game full steam ahead."

Asked if the step up from League One on loan at AFC Wimbledon earlier this year to facing a side like Man City is the stuff of dreams, Ramsdale added: "Yeah it is. I don’t think it’ll sink in again until I read and watch highlights after. But for now it’s just a chance to prove what I can do and just have some fun."

He added: "It doesn’t really matter if it’s end-to-end or it’s backs against the wall.

"It’s just a chance for me to try and stop the best players in the country so that’s what I’ve got to try and do."
