HEREFORDSHIRE 276-9 & 246-5 (9pts) drew with DORSET 315-9 & 280-7d (11pts)

DORSET had to settle for a draw at Herefordshire in their NCCA Championship Western Division One clash at Eastnor.

Luke Webb's men began the final day of three with a 180-run cushion over their opponents, plus seven wickets in hand.

Although Felix Organ (61) and Sam Young (33) departed early in the day, the baton was picked up by their successors.

Alex Eckland added a superb 69 to his 65 from the first innings, while Harry Fisher struck an unbeaten 48 as Dorset declared on 280-7.

That gave Herefordshire an unlikely target of 320 to win but there was no hint of the 'Bazball' displayed by England as the hosts never truly looked capable of chasing the score down.

Dorset afforded seamers Simon Woodruff (0-12) and Joe Huns (0-9) just eight overs with the new ball before focusing their efforts on spin.

Ben Chapman-Lilley (49) and Worcestershire batter Josh Dell (66) amassed 120 for the opening wicket before the latter fell to Charlie Gwynn (2-71).

Hampshire man Felix Organ (2-89) trapped Chapman-Lilley lbw agonisingly short of his half-century and Rob Pack (1-48) had Nick Hammond (24) caught by Young.

But with former Worcestershire opener Matt Pardoe (51no) still at the crease, Dorset were increasingly unlikely to win and the draw was agreed with the hosts five down and 74 runs shy of victory.
