DORCHESTER aim to make it six of the best when they host struggling Dorset Dockers in Dorset & Wilts One South tomorrow (3pm).

Although the Dockers lie 10th in the table compared to Dorchester sitting atop the league, they dropped from the Wadworth 6X Southern Counties South last season where the Cobug Road outfit are aiming to play next season.

With the momentum growing, the county town squad are training well with the core of senior side pushing hard and keen to win big for the club.

The key focus this week has been to put the shine on the already good team performance and to finish the chances created even better.

Head coach Ben Parker wants to see more vision from the side when playing.

He said: “We have worked on areas from last Saturday's game and I’m hoping this week we fire out of the blocks and start as we intend to finish.

“Selection has been getting increasingly harder each week and this week was no different. With a few injuries suffered last Saturday we have shuffled around a few players but have lost no quality in doing so.”

With Joe Underhill and Alan Gale returning to the front row this week and Lee King back from his enforced rest due to concussion, Sam Jones moves forward to the back row after Adam Makepeace’s needless and foolish red card after the whistle last week against Weymouth & Portland.

Makepeace is awaiting the outcome of his Dorset & Wilts disciplinary on November 2.

Jake Bosher remains at scrum-half and Alex Peel comes back into the team at fly-half with George Foot dropping to the bench.

Parker sees this week as a big test for his side as they were relegated last season from a stronger league and he hopes they will turn up strong to give his side a stern test and gauge where the home side are in relation to winning the league.

Meanwhile, Weymouth & Portland will be looking to bounce back from their derby defeat at Coburg Road last weekend, when they host Salisbury Seconds tomorrow.

Dorchester Gladiators are also at home to Lytchett Minster Seconds.

This weekend, Dorchester Cricket Club are sponsoring the first-team game.

Dorchester’s A XV travel to New Milton in Wadworth 6X Dorset & Wilts South Two action.

Other games at Coburg Road this weekend for the junior section see the under-14s taking on Bournemouth and the under-15s entertaining North Dorset.
