THIS weekend will see the two unbeaten sides in the Wadworth 6X Dorset & Wilts One South in Dorchester and Wimborne, face off.

Dorchester currently have bragging rights, sitting at the top of the table thanks to two bonus points and a huge points difference.

Dorchester will look to impose a fast-paced and physical game on Wimborne and are used to scoring from anywhere on the pitch.

Wimborne will no doubt front up and want to catch Dorchester napping at the start, as some games this season have shown they take time to hit their stride.

With a relatively stable squad Dorchester make few changes and have a very experienced and mobile pack.

James Bryant-Harries starts in the second row with Sam Jones while club captain James Newsam will bring his experience of playing at a higher level to the pack and could be a big voice on the pitch.

Jamie Morgan sits the game out due to concussion and Matt Read takes over at full-back, while Alex Peel will be looking to continue his fine performances this season and dictate the play from fly-half.

Winger James Baker will look to carry on his fine try-scoring record this season and come away with more points and will also run out as team captain again this week in the continued absence of Adam Makepeace.

Dorchester coach Ben Parker is aware this a big test for his squad and has been preparing them as much as possible for this game.

He said: “This will be a league-influencing game and we have been building over the weeks to this point.

“This game will take the whole 18 players in the squad to come away with the points and ultimately the team that wants the win most and works hardest will achieve that.

“I don’t perceive this to be a huge points scoring game, as we have had recently, but rather a very tight encounter down to the wire.”

Dorchester will need to think and play smarter than Wimborne and build up to a score.

This will be a test of patience and will need total concentration over the game and they will need to keep total discipline.

Dorchester’s other senior sides are also in action this weekend with the A XV at home to Bournemouth 4th XV and the 3rd XV Gladiators are away to Salisbury 4th XV.

The other game at Coburg Road this weekend in the junior section has the U15s hosting Taunton.

* Weymouth & Portland areaway to Lytchett Minster, while Bridport face Oakmeadians.
