YOUNGSTERS at Jurassic Coast Girls FC and Corfe Mullen United Juniors FC were treated to a fun introduction to futsal at the Under-8 Dorset Girls Futsal Festival on Saturday.

The day consisted of an hour-long coaching session led by an FA Qualified Futsal coach, followed by a five-aside Futsal fixture between the two clubs.

After a complimentary lunch the festival concluded with a four-aside round-robin between three teams created by the players of the two teams.

Event organiser, Nathan Wood, said: “It was such a pleasure to watch these girls grow in confidence as the festival developed.

“A huge thankyou goes to our friends at Corfe Mullen United Juniors under-8 Girls, who helped make it the appropriate, fun environment that the girls’ first introduction needed.

“It was a pleasure to meet so many like-minded girls, coaches & parents.

“We look forward to developing this age group further with some outdoor friendlies in the spring.”

Hayley Ramm, Corfe Mullen Utd Juniors under-8’s coach, said: “We received so much lovely feedback from parents, coaches and most importantly, the girls.

“We couldn't have asked for better hosts for our first taster of Futsal and indeed bringing some of our girls together as a team. It has inspired us to do more.

“It was a great day and a huge thank you goes to Nathan for all his hard work.”

The event was part funded by Dorset County FA whilst Jurassic Coast Girls FC have also received funded equipment & kit support from the Postcode Lottery Community Trust.
