HOMES across Weymouth and Dorchester have been left without power this morning.
Around 1,400 homes and businesses are believed to have been affected by the cut, which was reported at just after 8am this morning.
St John's Primary school is Weymouth has also been shut for the day.
A spokesperson for Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) said: "Engineers are currently investigating the fault and we are hoping to have all the power restored by 11am.
"We would like to extend our apologies to our customers who have been affected by the disruption this morning."
Homes in the following areas have been affected:
Abbotsbury, Bowleaze Cove, Dorchester, Elcombe, Greenhill, Osmington, Osmington Mills, Poxwell, Preston, Ringstead, Sutton Poyntz and Weymouth
Another fault left more than 500 homes in Preston and Sutton Poyntz without power for around three hours yesterday afternoon.
