DERICK MAYES Betty would like to thank all of the family and friends who attended the service at St Andrew’s Church, Preston on 1st September 2014 in such great numbers to mark the celebration of Derick’s life, most especially the countless Freemasons from all over Dorset extending across the south of England and Wales, and for the many personal expressions of sympathy and affection that helped to support her through this difficult time. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Stroke Unit at Dorset County Hospital for their unprecedented care, understanding and kindness throughout Derick’s short illness. Thanks also to Stockting Funeral Service for their quiet efficiency and sympathetic understanding, most especially Dennis Mould and his colleagues. Lastly to Rev’d Brian Ellis, not just for the sensitive manner in which he conducted the service, but for his kindness and caring support throughout, along with the staff and efficient administration of St Andrew’s Church, Preston. The many generous donations have been apportioned between the Stroke Association and the British Heart Foundation.
