THE Dorset Echo Jobs Fair is back!

Are you looking for employment or thinking of making a change to your career path? - then pop along to the Jobs Fair and see where it can take you.

Now in its seventh year, the fair is designed to bring together employers and job seekers into a relaxed and informative networking hub.

People can sign up for workshops and this year new businesses will be at the event, including New Look, The National Trust and McDonald’s.

Each year more than 1,000 jobseekers attend to talk to businesses from across the career spectrum, as well as gaining advice and support.

Previous years have proved a massive success and the Jobs Fair is only going from strength to strength. Organisers are hoping to build on that success with a bigger and better event.

The Dorset Echo Jobs Fair, sponsored by Encompass, will take place on Wednesday, February 8 from 10am to 4pm.

David McArthur from the Jobs Centre said: “We are proud to work in partnership with the Dorset Echo to progress local people into employment, which in turn supports resident businesses to grow. The Jobs Fair is a fantastic opportunity for anyone seeking a new job or a change of jobs. It has previously helped thousands of jobseekers into long-term sustainable employment and new career paths.

“It’s a fact since 2010 we have seen local unemployment massively decrease, -60 per cent for youth unemployment and -50 per cent for all ages. With this fantastic jobs fair we are confident numbers will continue to decrease.

“Be a part and get hired.”

There are two workshops organised for the fair.

Best Training’s free Skills for Change workshops are designed to help job seekers learn how to identify and most importantly gain the new skills needed to be able to make the changes they want to achieve in their career.

The workshops are held at 11.30am or 1pm and will cover: identifying your existing skills and character strengths; transferring those skills to a new job or industry; understanding which new skills you need to gain for change; knowing where to go for local skills training to suit your career and learning needs and making the next step – how to build skills and experience fit for a new employer.

Come and see us at the Weymouth Jobs Fair and make 2017 the year you achieve your own career goals.
