Ward Goodman, the Dorset-based firm of Chartered Accountants and Independent Financial Advisers, has welcomed a new client service manager at the firm’s Wareham office.

Originally qualifying as an accountant whilst working for a large national firm in London, Liz McCormick then moved into industry where she gained valuable experience and insight over the intervening years, and which has armed her with a fantastic understanding of how it feels to work within a business and the challenges faced by business owners.

Upon returning to practice, Liz qualified as a chartered tax advisor.

Liz said: "I like to use a plain English, no jargon approach when supporting my smaller businesses and individuals and help them understand their business finances and plan for growth. In recent years, I’ve also been involved in teaching accounting and enhancing my skills to help trainees develop in the work place. It’s important for me that my clients are comfortable and feel able to discuss all aspects of their business in order to find the best approach for them, and so rest assured, no question is ever a silly question when it comes to your business.

“Outside of work, I enjoy going to boot camp, mountain walking and cycling – so you might well find me walking the beautiful Dorset countryside when out and about at the weekends.”

Sandi Snashall, of Travel Counsellors said: "Having spent some time with Liz, she has really helped with my understanding of what I need to do to keep track of my business. Liz is very informative, approachable, and has an ability to explain things in a plain, uncomplicated manner which takes the fear away of the dreaded brown envelope."
