The trio has been described as ‘Grapelli meets Vivaldi’, playing a mixture of gypsy jazz, classical and folk music. Tickets cost £8 for adults and £6 for under 18’s. MELBURY MEN’s Breakfast will hold their next meeting on Saturday, January 19, when the guest speaker will be Terence Rosslyn-Smith. He will be talking about 40 years of Christian Social Enterprise, covering a range of projects with which he has been involved (including helping seamen in Cork and ex-offenders in Balsall Heath).

Meetings are held at the Southern Counties Shooting Club Cafe on Wardon Hill (A37), starting at 8.45 and finishing at around 9.45am.

There is a vegetarian option for those who require it, as well as a lighter breakfast for those who do not wish to have the ‘full English’.

THE LADIES’ Thursday Group will restart on Thursday, January 24 at 7.30pm in Stratton Village Hall, when local resident Rosie Barfoot will give a talk entitled ‘Keeping the Spirit of the Flame Alive’. She will describe her Olympic Torch experience and explain why she was nominated as a torchbearer. Everyone is most welcome to come along.

FIZZYBOPPERS, a high energy mix of action songs and dancing for 0-5 year olds, has started on Thursdays from 10 to 11 am in Maiden Newton Village Hall. This is supported by SureStart Children’s Centres in Dorset.
