THE Churches of Weymouth and Portland have come together to prepare Christmas hampers for those experiencing financial problems.
The event, co-ordinated by Weymouth Family Church earlier this month, saw 24 hampers wrapped for clients of Christians Against Poverty (CAP).
Each hamper will go to a family, couple or individual working hard to get out of debt over the festive season.
Church members across the borough have also donated food items and money which has enabled CAP to provide the hampers.
One client, who joined in the 'wrapping party', said: "I am overwhelmed by the generosity of everybody who gave to the wonderful cause, many families will be helped over the festive period."
Hampers were presented to clients at their CAP Christmas meal last week at Ebenezer Church.
