COWDEN Care Farm in Charminster near Dorchester is holding a community fun day and car boot sale on Saturday August 2.

The farm gives adults with learning disabilities pre work experience.

In the last two years the farm has created an allotment area, garden nursery and has started up the green fingers club. It has animals which people are encouraged to care for too.

The open day is a way to show the local community what has been happening at the farm.

It starts at 10am with a car boot sale and there will be a dog show from 11am and live music with a bar from 12pm.

There will be a pizza making workshop, a drumming workshop, a plant sale, games and a raffle.

Profits from the farm will go towards the farm’s next project, which will see the black sheds in the car park turned into a reception area, quiet space, farm shop and kitchen area which will hold ‘patch to plate’ workshops and a cafe.
